The 30th Conference ("Sticks and Stones") was hosted by the Town of Glocester in 2015.

The Rhode Island Historic Preservation Conference originated as a statewide convening of local Historic District Commission members in 1986. It has evolved into a general-interest event for students, volunteers, and professionals. Workshops and lectures are augmented by exhibits, networking, demonstrations, videos, and tours--on foot, bicycle, and boat. Over the years, dozens of Rhode Island communities have hosted  Conference activities. In 2021 RIHPHC held its first virtual historic preservation conference.
