Literature and Culture Author Conversations with West Warwick Public Library

Join Tomaquag Museum for a discussion with Rashaa and Amber of West Warwick Public Library as they discuss the Indigenous Youth Writing Project that concluded this summer. Library staff worked with Indigenous Youth participants, showing them step by step how to write, edit, and polish their pieces to professional standards and pursue the publication process. In addition, the fellows met with successful Native authors for guidance and learned how to teach a workshop to the public about writing. The fellowship culminated in the publishing of the Anthology of the fellows' work "Voices of Warp and Weft" available from all major retailers for purchase and borrowing in the RI public library system. This was an incredible and empowering experience for Indigenous Youth.
