Join RI Black Storytellers (RIBS) for an evening of culture, food, and stories. Community Flavors is a chance for strangers to become neighbors.

About this event

“If you want your community to be well, all you really need to do is gather regularly to share food and stories.” Lewis Mehl Madrona, MD, author of Narrative Medicine and traditional healer in Lakota and Cherokee traditions.

RIBS invites you to join us in an evening of sharing food and stories.

Community Flavors is a chance for strangers to become neighbors.

Come, sit at table, dine on locally prepared cultural cuisine, (hear the poetry of Mr. Orange Live) and then, share memories and stories with one another prompted by our Table Guides.

No preparation, no practice, no performance necessary, just an open mind and heart and willingness to participate.

Community Flavors is made possible by a Community Grant from the Rhode Island Foundation
