People have lived in Cranston for thousands of years, and this history survives, in bits and pieces, underneath the built-up landscape and the remaining open spaces.  Join State Archaeologist Charlotte Taylor for a look below ground at the archaeological sites of the city.  From Native American soapstone quarrying to the coal mining days of the 19th and 20th centuries, from the homes of Native people to the homes of the European settlers, the archaeology of Cranston has fascinating stories to tell!

Free and open to the public. Registration is not required, but those who register at least three days prior to the event will receive an email reminder.
